Payment Tracker

Project Overview

THE TASK

Catalis needed a rapid MVP prototype of a redesign for their government clients' payment tracker, a secure way to track payment activity without contacting support or accessing internal systems. The goal was to design an modern payment status tracker that would give agencies and authorized users clear visibility into payment dates, methods, confirmation details, and real-time status—while meeting strict security, accessibility, and government usability standards.

MY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Presenting complex payment data with a modern design in a way that was clear to non-technical government users
  • Designing for multiple payment methods and status scenarios without overwhelming the interface
  • Creating a rapid prototype solution that could scale across different payment systems

TOOLS & TECHNOLOGIES

  • AI Prototyping: Figma Make
  • UI Design & Wireframing: Figma

KEY CHALLENGES

  • Short deadline to align various groups of stakeholders
  • Creating a solution that could scale across different agencies and payment systems

SOLUTION

I utilized AI for a rapid design solution and implimented a streamlined design that prioritized clarity, confidence, and ease of use. The experience centered on a simple lookup flow paired with clear status indicators and payment details to reduce confusion and support requests. The Figma mockup served as both a design artifact and a communication tool, helping align stakeholders and engineering around a shared vision before development began.

RESULTS

The final design delivered a clear, accessible payment tracking experience that reduced reliance on support teams and improved transparency for government clients. The tool provided a scalable foundation that could be extended across agencies, payment types, and future enhancements.
