You may use this service to pay the balance due on your Form 940 return. This service cannot be used to make required federal tax deposits. Deposits can only be made through the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS). It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that all taxes are paid or deposited correctly and on time. Please refer to Publication 15 (Circular E), Employer's Tax Guide for information explaining the requirements for paying employment taxes.
